99th Temari

I have studied the picture and the diagram for this temari several times, and never had the confidence to attempt it until now. I had to learn this technique for for level one, so this time, when I read the pattern I had confidence I could do it even though I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to work out. The only things I'm not too pleased about is I should have picked a darker green for the center, and I should have packed my stitches a little closer together.

But I really like the colors, and it worked up very quickly.

I've been hinting about a special milestone coming up. This is my 99th temari, and the next one will be my 100th! I decided to commemorate the occasion by giving it (the 100th) away. It's not made yet, so it will be a gamble for you if you want to sign up for it. So, if you sign up on this post, you will get 2 chances to win it. If you sign up on the post where I show it off, you will get one chance to win it. I will pull a name on the day I post my next temari after that. Please spell out your e-mail in words (unless I already know how to get in touch with you). I will print up the names, and pull one out of the hat (or ask C to, I think she would enjoy that). I do have a pattern picked out, so it shouldn't take too long.

One hundred temari! and I've only scratched the surface of the patterns, techniques, and colors I want to try. Who knew?

Lovely temari! Congratulations on coming to your big milestone of 100 temari. I've lost count of the number I made. It must be at least 80 by now... but who knows? Another reason to keep a temari journal from the get go. I'd love your 100th temari it will be a beauty for sure so please count me in.

I love the complexity of these things. Beautiful #99! I would love to be entered for #100.

Is there a book or website you can recommend for learning to make these? (I never heard of them before last week.) I will never make 100 of them, most likely, but I would like to learn how to make one, so that I may better appreciate them.

And I'm still working on temari number 2. I have a LONG way to go...

Your temari is lovely! Can't wait to see what number 100 looks like!
