I still have to weave in the working "threads" but then it is done.
I like the stitching. (It's done in a sort of a "buttonhole" stitch, and is quite relaxing when you pick up the rhythm.) I'm going to make a rug for the front door (and I will be accepting donations of cotton fabric in browns and greens... it takes 35 YARDS of fabric!). Any ideas where I can find yardage for less than $5 a yard? But the finished rug is reversible and washable, and I really like the look. It stitches up quickly too.
Tonight is music practice (for DH) so I go along and crochet in the free time. I'm still working on my mittens. Then Thursday I want to dig out my thimble and temari stitching supplies. I ordered the silk threads for the thimbles! I can't wait until it gets here.

That's cute! My mum made something like this a few years ago. I had no idea it was called a toothbrush rug. I looked at the link that big rug is amazing!
Glad you're back. If your local WallyWorld still has fabrics, they often have a table of $2-$3 a yard. I'll look at Fields down the street. You probably can't wait until their tent sale. (I expect they will be selling a tent again this summer, DH!)

Locally, Hobby Lobby - JoAnn Fabrics did have some under $5, too. Maybe they will have a big sale soon!

Knew you'd have this done quickly. Can't believe the amount of fabric it takes to complete!! The finished product is quite nice though.
